Old Pulteney's Maritime Malt is renowned for its unique coastal character derived from its Wick heritage. The latest addition to their repertoire is the Old Pulteney Coastal Series, introducing an exciting twist to their signature flavor. The first expression in this series is an outstanding limited edition single malt, further matured in ex-Pineau des Charentes casks, lending a new perspective to the Old Pulteney experience.

This exceptional Scotch whiskey encapsulates a shared maritime legacy. Each cask of the Coastal Series absorbs the sea air, marking it with its unique coastal character. The Pineau des Charentes variant is crafted by aging the spirit by the Caithness Coast in American oak casks, followed by a period in ex-Pineau des Charentes casks crafted from French oak. This maturation process results in a sweet, rich single malt that harmoniously melds flavors of dried fruits and a subtle saltiness, embodying the essence of the sea.

Distilled under the guidance of Distillery Manager Malcolm Waring, this no-age statement whiskey is an exploration of flavor and craft. The resulting expression is marked by a delightful sweetness that beautifully complements Old Pulteney's characteristic salinity, creating a layered depth akin to older expressions. CHARACTERISTICS: 

Appearance: Bronze with a pink hue

Aroma: Fragrant and rich with honey sweetness and vanilla at the base. Intense fruitiness starts jammy and stewed and develops into candied oranges and sticky balsamic raisins. Hints of toasted spices and powder pepper complete this stunning profile. 

Taste: A lingering finish showcases notes of caramelised hazelnuts and ground spices, broadening in sweetness, and then drying ever so slowly towards a savoury finale of coastal minerality.
