Very smooth drink, and the sherry casks tones down the smoke of Laphroiag but enhances the overall experience. Complex with its now fruity overtones blended with the smoke and sea. Will buy again, don't sell out before I do!

This is my favorite Irish Whiskey, and it has a very interesting history, tied strongly to the Protestant Scots-Irish (Ulster Scots) tradition of Northern Ireland, but loved by many across the island and beyond! The Scots influence is notable. James Craig was once the owner of "Royal Irish Distilleries," and his son, Sir James Craig became the first Prime Minister of Northern Ireland. The symbols of the Royal tradition are beautifully incorporated into the bottle's design, which is in itself an interesting conversation piece. I taste a little bit of oak, vanilla and apricot, with a very, very subtle hint of leather. It stays with you a little bit, with a really nice, warm finish. The original distillery closed in the early 19th century, and remaining bottles were highly sought after, so the new Echlinville Distillery revived the brand in 2012. I absolutely love this whiskey and am very grateful to have discovered it.

I first came across the Evan Williams 1783 Small Batch bourbon when I was in Michigan earlier this year. What struck me about it was how "non-diva" a bourbon it is. With a lot of brands, you come to expect a characteristic bite, sour, smoke, caramel, etc. that makes them stand out as their own unique thing. But what I like most about this bourbon is how aggressively normal it is: it's just a smooth, flavorful, warm, inviting glass that will ease your pains and cares as you sip away. It pairs wonderfully with a wide range of cigars too (which never hurts), and isn't ridiculously expensive (as many are these days), so it's earned its place on my short list for sure.

Im always skeptical about ordering online especially bottles coming from so far away but this order was p[ackaged beautifully and arrived safely. I will definitely order from BarrelTap again, especially for items not able to get in this area. Thank you.
