Pineau des Charentes, a distinctive French aperitif created from a blend of fresh grape juice and young cognac and subsequently aged in French oak barrels for several years, plays a crucial role in the maturation process of Doc Swinson's Exploratory Cask Pineau Des Charentes Finish Bourbon. A blend of two five-year bourbon whiskeys is allowed to mature in these barrels, infusing the bourbon's inherent caramel and stone fruit notes with traces of apricot, sultanas, and wildflower honey.
